Here's a picture of our living room in Eindhoven. This room doubles as Elliott's play room and our dining room. The leatherette couch looks very nice, but it is very uncomfortable. Trying to be optimistic, I tell Megan that it's like a new baseball mitt: we just have to break it in. The baby items seen in these pictures are from Ikea (pronounced "ee-kay-uh", in the Netherlands). Yes, we have been to Ikea already, and yes, it is just as crowded and maze-like as it is in Emeryville.

Where are the Cheerios!?!

So far we have not been able to find Cheerios at the local grocery stores. This is a problem, since Cheerios are a major staple of Elliott's diet. We may have to resort to Honey Nut Cheerios soon (which are sold here), but we're still looking!

The LeAndrese family arrived safely in Eindhoven via Cincinnati and Amsterdam on Tuesday, 22 August. Elliott was great on the plane: he made new friends, didn't cry very much, and slept for most of the flight from Cincinnati to Amsterdam. We traveled from Amsterdam to Eindhoven by train, and walked from the train station to our new apartment with four suitcases, one duffel bag, two backpacks, a laptop, and our stroller. Our apartment is nice, but small (one bedroom). It's also on the ground floor with windows facing the street: good for people watching, bad for privacy. We started out without a refrigerator, but we received one yesterday.
