Soooo many new talents...

This may not be a surprise for people who have kids or work with them, but I am constantly amazed by how quickly Elliott changes. He is talking up a storm now and sometimes he does things that amaze me. For instance, the other day he picked up a wrapper off the floor, said "trash" and, without prompting, went to our kitchen cupboard, opened it and threw the wrapper away! I was sitting looking at him in shock the whole time.

He is talking up a storm too...learning new words all the time. Some new additions to his vocabulary are: monkey, auto (Dutch for car), school, bus, bag, oatmeal, milk, and no (this gets used more often than I would like!). Of course, if you aren't an expert in his pronunciation, you might need a translator for some of them. He can identify (sometimes) the colors blue and yellow and loves to play in sand and go to the park. I don't think he quite knows that a new baby is on the way so it will be interesting to see how he adjusts to that...a rude awakening!

We have posted a short video for you to see him in action. Warning: this video contains profanity!

Belly update: Week 34

When asked what's in Megan's belly, Elliott says "baby". When asked what's in his belly, he also says "baby". Hmmm...

He's growing up fast

One of Cameron and Elliott's new Saturday morning activities is the Boy's Club shave. It's necessary to shave weekly to eliminate E's 5-day shadow. We hope that the grandpas, uncles, and other Boy's Club members will join in from afar. Don't forget the importance of proper footwear!

Cameron Does Italy

Buon giorno! I just returned from a conference in Italy this past week. I flew into Pisa, stayed a night there, and then took a bus to a resort/conference center called Il Ciocco near Barga, Italy. I ate well, drank well, saw some old friends, and learned about some new research topics (to me, at least). The Tuscan countryside was beautiful, and I had a chance to take a few hikes through the hills. I hope the whole fam can make a trip back to the area within the next few years.
