Theo's Chowing Down and Ready to Roll

Theo seemed to be extra hungry lately, so we decided to try and give him some solid food. First came a small biscuit: he gummed it happily until it was a gooey mess. Yesterday we tried rice cereal: he ate two bowls of it before we had to cut him off. So needless to say Theo seems to be ready to eat solid foods. We think this is about a month earlier than Elliott first ate solid foods, but then again Theo is already wearing clothes for 6-12 month olds, so maybe he needs the extra nutrition! In other Theo-related news, he is very close to being to roll over from back to front. We think it will be a matter of days...

10 Seconds to Improve a Bad Day

If you are having a bad day, here is ten seconds of video to make you smile. Theo has made a lot of progress suddenly in the last week. He has never liked to be on his stomach, screaming and rubbing his face on the floor when we give him "tummy time." But yesterday and today, he started supporting his upper body on his arms! He can get quite high now. As if that wasn't enough, he rolled over this morning for the first time! It was from his front to his back...I think the momentum of moving his big ol' head around while on his stomach was too much for him.

Those are the happy ten seconds of the video...we didn't include the delightful parts of Elliott shouting the word, "NO!" It's one of his favorites now and makes an appearance quite often in our house. Of course, it's better than, "NO WAY!" which is another favorite. It's amazing how incredibly rude that sounds coming from a two-year-old. I'm sure that Elliott must have heard that from me...I really have to watch what I say now. Actually, Elliott talks up a storm and is starting to use sentences. We were riding on our bike the other day, and I was singing to keep Elliott entertained, and he said, "No Mama song!" I guess he didn't like my singing.

Both boys do much better if they are well-rested so naptime is sacred around here. This also helps with Mama's sanity.

Happy halloween mateys!

We were able to celebrate Halloween this year with friends here in Eindhoven. We all dressed up as pirates, after an afternoon at the secondhand store. We all had some face paint on, including Theo (we're still trying to find a picture of that). The best part about dressing up for Halloween is that we already have costumes for Carnaval!
